Metal cleats suit advanced players on natural grass and dirt, molded TPU cleats are the most versatile across surfaces, and molded rubber cleats are the safe, regulation-compliant choice for youth and recreational leagues. • Molded TPU cleats offer the best balance of performance and durability, ideal for travel ball players and teams playing on varying surfaces.

• Molded rubber cleats are softer and more comfortable on hard or dry fields, and accepted in all youth and recreational leagues.

Usually not. Many artificial turf fields and indoor facilities don’t allow metal cleats because they can damage the surface. On turf, choose molded TPU cleats or turf shoes. Always check the facility’s rules before game day.

Many youth leagues don’t allow metal cleats for younger age groups, for safety reasons, and rules vary by association. Most young players wear molded cleats from our youth cleats collection, available in boys’ cleats and girls’ cleats. Youth cleats are selected to support proper foot development in growing athletes.

Turf shoes have small rubber nubs instead of studs. They’re made for artificial turf, indoor training, batting cages, warm-ups and coaching. Many players keep a pair in their bag for intensive training sessions and pre-game work.

It’s not recommended. Baseball and softball cleats have a stud at the toe that helps you push off when running bases and dig in at the plate. Soccer cleats don’t have it, so you lose traction where you need it most.

Yes. Women’s cleats are built on a narrower last for a more precise anatomical fit, and softball models are designed for the quick lateral movements of fastpitch and slowpitch. Shop women’s metal cleats, molded TPU cleats and molded rubber cleats.

As a general rule, a women’s size is about 1.5 sizes larger than the equivalent men’s size: a men’s 7 is roughly a women’s 8.5. Fit varies by brand, so check the brand’s size chart or try them on in store.

Snug, with about a thumb’s width of space in front of your longest toe, and no heel slip when you run. Try them on with your game socks. Some New Balance models come in wide widths for players with wider feet.

Low-cut cleats are the lightest and offer the most freedom of movement, popular with infielders and fast runners. Mid and high-cut cleats add ankle support, often preferred by pitchers, catchers and players with past ankle injuries.

Pitchers wear down the toe of their drag foot quickly. A toe guard from our shoe accessories protects that area and makes your cleats last much longer.

Knock off dirt and mud after every game, let them air dry at room temperature and don’t store them wet in your bag. Avoid walking on concrete in metal cleats, and wear slides or turf shoes before and after games.
