Boys' Cleats
Molded and rubber cleats sized for boys, built for growing feet and youth-league rules.
How to choose: most youth leagues ban metal, so stick to molded or rubber, and leave about a thumb's width of growing room. See the rest of our youth cleats for turf shoes and slides.
For most kids, a mid-range molded cleat from our youth cleats is the smart buy since they’ll outgrow it within a season. Premium junior models, like the Under Armour Harper Jr. or New Balance 4040 Jr., make more sense for older boys in competitive or travel baseball who play several times a week.
Have him wear them around the house and at a practice or two before game day so the upper softens and moulds to his foot. Never send a child to a tournament in brand-new cleats. Between practices, he can wear slides or junior turf shoes to give his feet a break.
Yes. Brands regularly release special colourways in junior sizes, like the Under Armour Harper Limited Edition USA cleats, or kids’ versions of MLB signature models from Nike, Jordan, Adidas and Mizuno. Availability changes by season, so check our boys’ cleats often.
Junior cleats are molded only. If his league allows metal and he wears a big kids’ size 6Y or larger, look at small sizes in our men’s metal cleats, which roughly match youth sizes. If metal isn’t allowed, men’s molded TPU cleats are the next step up in traction.
At this age, molded cleats are the norm, since metal is rarely allowed. Rubber molded cleats are the most comfortable, while TPU gives more grip for boys playing competitive or all-star baseball. Either way, choose a snug fit with about a half size of room to grow. See all youth baseball cleats.
Yes. Boys’ cleats follow the standard youth fit, while girls’ cleats are built on a narrower last with a slimmer heel, designed for young softball players. Some boys with narrow feet find a better fit in girls’ models, and vice versa.
For winter practices in gyms and domes, junior turf shoes like the Under Armour Yard Jr. give grip on turf and indoor floors without the studs. Older boys in men’s sizes can choose from our turf shoes.
