T-Ball & Junior Big Barrel (JBB) Bats
First bats matter most. Our t-ball and Junior Big Barrel (JBB) models are feather-light and easy to control, so brand-new players can put the ball in play and build a swing they'll keep.
Ready for coach-pitch or machine-pitch? Step up to USA baseball bats or USSSA baseball bats when your league calls for the USABat stamp or USSSA stamp.
A T-ball bat is a short, very light bat designed for young children hitting off a tee or soft-toss. T-ball bats usually have a big drop (-10 to -13) so kids can swing them easily and build good habits and confidence at the plate.
A Junior Big Barrel bat is a lightweight youth bat with a larger 2 3/4" barrel, giving young hitters a bigger hitting surface. JBB bats are a great step up from T-ball for kids starting coach-pitch or early kid-pitch baseball, and most are USSSA certified.
T-ball bats are generally made for children around 4 to 6 years old who are just starting baseball. As kids grow and start hitting pitched balls, they usually move to a Junior Big Barrel bat or a USA Baseball bat.
Most T-ball bats are between 24" and 26" long. Choose a bat your child can swing comfortably and control without dropping the barrel. When in doubt, go lighter. Our youth bat size chart shows the right length by age, height and weight.
If your child plays in a league that requires the USA Baseball stamp, such as Little League, choose a USA Baseball bat. If your league accepts USSSA bats, a Junior Big Barrel bat offers a bigger barrel and more pop. Our bat buying guide explains the differences.
