Youth Batting Gloves
Sized-down grip for young hitters, so small hands stay locked on the bat.
How to choose: measure across the palm and pick a snug fit with little extra material; browse the full batting gloves range for the whole team
They’re not required, but most young players love them. Youth batting gloves improve grip, reduce bat sting on cold days and prevent blisters during batting practice. They also help kids feel more confident at the plate.
Youth batting gloves usually come in sizes from XXS or XS to L. Measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger and compare with the brand’s size chart. Choose a snug fit: gloves that are too big slide around and make it harder to grip the bat.
For the youngest players, look for gloves made for small hands that are easy to put on, like the Nike Alpha Tee Ball or Franklin Grow to Pro Youth. Pair them with a T-ball bat and a youth batting helmet.
Older kids in competitive or travel ball often choose the same models the pros wear, in youth sizes: the Bruce Bolt Premium Pro Youth, EvoShield SRZ-1 Youth, Under Armour Clean Up Youth or Easton Walk-Off Ethos Youth.
Most are, so boys and girls can wear the same models. Some, like the UA Radar Girl’s Batting Gloves, are designed specifically for young softball and baseball players with a slimmer fit.
Teach them to take the gloves off in the dugout instead of stuffing them wet in the bag. Let them air dry after every game, and hand wash them in cold water when they get dirty. Never put them in the dryer.
Once your child outgrows youth L, or the fingers feel tight, move to adult S in our men’s batting gloves or women’s batting gloves.
