Baseballs
Leather game balls for competition and tougher practice balls for reps.
How to choose: use full-grain leather balls for games and cheaper practice or training balls for cage work; buying for a team? Save with a dozen.
In Canada, game baseballs are chosen by age group:
8.5" balls, like the Louisville Slugger BB850 or Rawlings RL850: for the youngest players, around 9U
Rawlings 65CC: official Baseball Canada ball for 13U and younger
Louisville Slugger BB11: for 11U and 13U
Louisville Slugger BB12: for 15U
Rawlings 80CC: Baseball Canada approved for 16U
Louisville Slugger BB12-RL: for 18U
Associations set their own requirements, so confirm with your league before buying. Shop all baseballs.
An 8.5" ball is smaller and lighter than the standard 9" baseball, so it’s easier for small hands to grip and throw properly. It helps young players build good throwing mechanics and confidence before moving up to a regulation ball.
The Rawlings ROMLB is the Official Major League Baseball, the same ball used in MLB games. It’s a popular choice for high-level play, collectors and autographs. We also carry the MLB Official Ball with Case for display.
Game balls have a full-grain leather cover and a construction approved for official play. Practice balls, like the Rawlings RTD1 and Ultimate Practice Baseball, are made to withstand repeated use in drills and batting practice at a lower price. Many teams keep separate balls for games and practice. Find more options in our training balls.
Yes. Most of our baseballs are available by the unit or by the dozen, and buying by the dozen lowers the cost per ball, a smart choice for teams and associations. See our boxes of balls by the dozen and ball buckets.
