Équipements
Every player needs a glove, a bat and a batting helmet. Most also wear batting gloves, cleats and, for boys, a cup in their sliding shorts. Carry it all in an equipment bag. Many leagues provide team helmets and catcher’s gear, so check with your association before buying.
A catcher’s set includes a helmet, chest protector and leg guards that fit together, often at a better price, which makes it ideal for young catchers. Experienced catchers often buy pieces separately to get the perfect fit, from our catcher’s helmets and masks, chest protectors and catcher’s leg guards. Our catcher’s gear fitting guide explains how to size each piece. Browse all catcher’s equipment.
Elbow and leg guards protect the lead elbow and front ankle and shin from inside pitches and foul balls off the foot, two of the most common injuries at the plate. Shop elbow guards, batter’s leg guards, hand guards and wrist guards in our player protection collection.
Many fastpitch/softball leagues require or recommend defensive facemasks for pitchers and infielders, who are close to the batter and face hard-hit balls. In slowpitch, pitchers can find masks and gear in our slowpitch pitcher protection.
In Canada, game baseballs are chosen by age group, and each level uses a ball with a different construction and compression. The most common official balls are:
Rawlings 65CC: official Baseball Canada ball for 13U and younger. Full-grain leather cover with a composite cork and rubber centre.
Rawlings 80CC: Baseball Canada approved for 16U. Wound tighter than the 65CC, so it travels faster and farther off the bat.
Louisville Slugger BB11: designed for 11U and 13U play.
Louisville Slugger BB12: designed for 15U play, with a full-grain leather cover and a cushioned cork centre.
Louisville Slugger BB12-RL: used at the 18U level.
Ball requirements are set by each association and can differ between provinces and leagues, so always confirm which ball your league uses before ordering. Shop all baseballs, plus softballs and training balls for practice. Balls are available individually or by the dozen, ideal for teams and associations.
Our coach’s corner includes scorebooks, line-up cards, coaching boards, pitch counters, radars and stopwatches, and ball bags, buckets and caddies. Add wrist coaches for signals.
Yes. Associations and field managers can find bases, home plates and slowpitch mats and field and base maintenance products. Browse all field equipment.
Our injury and recovery collection includes braces and supports, taping and recovery products. For any injury, consult a health professional before returning to play.
A few essentials make game day easier: eye black to cut sun glare, rosin for pitchers’ grip, headbands, hoods and skull caps, a water bottle from our hydration collection, and Captodor to fight gear odours.
In Canada, the Worth Hot Dot is the most widely used slowpitch softball. It comes in versions approved for different organizations, including SPN (Slo-Pitch National), USSSA and USA Softball, plus an 11" version for younger and women’s divisions. Check which stamp your league requires, then shop all softballs, available individually, by the dozen or in team buckets.
